Thanksgiving

We've had fun talking with kids and families about Water, Weed, and Wait. We'll be at Rosebank Elementary in Chula Vista on November 30 talking with students about the book and gardening.

Take a minute to see if the kids you hold dear can identify common seeds—lima bean, pumpkin, and radish, for instance.

My AAUW branch held a lively event on November 6—Authors and Appetizers. Chris Reich talked about his best-selling books of international intrigue. Nan Sterman shared her gardening expertise—you may have heard her on These Days on KPBS. I talked about writing books for children and building school gardens. A very successful event providing scholarships for women and girls.

We're thankful for all of you who sent us copies of the article Diane Welch wrote about us and the book in the San Diego Union-Tribune on November 4. Thanks, Diane!

I can almost smell turkey roasting . . .
